Loose-leaf Chinese tea, brewed by the cup. Boba and fruit tea from the same counter.
Muse & Co is an artist’s lounge and tea house at 311 Hay Street. Six loose-leaf teas go into the pot to order — two greens, two oolongs and two caffeine-free florals — next to thirteen boba milk teas and ten fruit teas. Sit with a cup as long as you like; most people here are drawing while they drink.
These are brewed from whole leaf, one cup at a time — not from a syrup or a concentrate. If you have never had a real oolong side by side with a green, ask and we will pour you both.
Thirteen milk teas, each served with chewy tapioca pearls you can swap for popping boba or jelly. Brown Sugar is the one people photograph; Osmanthus Oolong is the one they come back for.
Ten fruit teas built on green and oolong bases rather than on juice alone, so the tea is still the thing you taste. Served iced; add popping boba if you want the texture without the milk.
Every drink here is made with seven-stage reverse-osmosis filtered water. Tea is overwhelmingly water, so it is the single thing that most changes how a cup tastes — a Dragon Well brewed in flat municipal water is a different and worse drink. It is an unglamorous piece of equipment and it is the one we care most about.
